The Ladies’ Section is a constituent part of the Radcliffe-on-Trent Golf Club, formed to conduct the activities of the Lady Members. We currently have a few vacancies and would welcome applications from ladies of all standards, whether with handicaps or beginners. Please contact the Club Secretary for an application form. The management of the Ladies Section is vested in the Ladies’ Committee, chaired by the Ladies Captain. A full diary of events is provided throughout the year. Tuesday is Ladies’ Day when the tee is reserved for ladies during the morning. EWGA medals and Stableford competitions are also arranged on a number of Sunday mornings when the tee is reserved between 9.30 and 10.00 am. During the summer, in addition to EWGA medals, there is a variety of competitions for long established club trophies, with formats ranging from foursomes to knock-out competitions. In particular, ladies enjoy our ‘Meeting’ days in the Spring, Summer and Autumn. The Ladies Captain’s Day and Ladies President’s Day are also highlights of the year. During the winter, the Ladies’ Committee organises more ‘fun’ competitions, sometimes with unusual formats. Radcliffe ladies also enjoy playing matches against other clubs. We take part in the Notts County Ladies Silver and Bronze leagues (singles), and the Notts County Ladies Inter-Club (foursomes knockout) as well as playing Club matches which are usually better ball or greensomes. in addition we hold a Ladies’ Open Day and a Ladies’ Invitation Day every year, when we extend a warm welcome to ladies playing our course. Social events in the ladies’ calendar include a Ladies’ Dinner, Christmas Lunch, coffee morning, Autumn Fayre and bridge. |
